E3-Prijs Harelbeke 2010

Just to wet your appetite for the big one next weekend, catch the hi-lights from last years race. Remember last years winner came from this race & not Gent Welvegem. Looking at the start list LEOPARD Trek & Garmin Cervélo are sending pretty much their Ronde Teams, so I'd expect some fireworks from these guys. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFjvlNP8IyM&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Castelli, The San Remo Suit

This is a proper OMG moment. It continues to show that Castelli lead the way in thought patterns and developing new technical apparel for their sponsored riders. The Garmin Cervelo Team will no doubt use this piece of kit a lot over the season, but it was designed with one purpose in mind, to help Haussler win San Remo. Good luck tomorrow Heinrick.

March 1000 - the story so far

So how the training going, well here is my update. Week 1 I covered 200km. Week 2, well I was heading for a good week when life turned up and the best laid plans of mice and men it all got turned upside down and the high kilometer figure I was hoping for didn't materialize. So week 2 ended up the same as week 1 with another 200km. Week 3 has started off as a one I'd rather forget. I was ill in bed on Monday, went back to work Tuesday, and now here on Thursday, still no bike riding. So zero kilometers this week, so far. As I'm back to a point where I think I could actually ride a bike without falling off, I might get some scores on the doors yet this week.

Good news is that I've decided on clinchers for Roubaix, and will pack a whole bunch of tubes for the day out. Next it's on to thinking about what kit to wear, in particular what gloves to use. I'll report back once I have some news.

tirreno-adriatico 2011 2° tappa - tyler farrar - arezzo.avi

Just look at those roads, they are to die for. For some reason Tirreno Adriatico isn't perceived as prestigious as Paris Nice. It's a shame as this race provides exciting racing & stunning scenery.

Monte Paschi Strade Bianche - Video Hi-Lights and photos

Watching the race it really clearly shows how hilly it is and it has far more in common with the Tour of Flanders than Paris Roubaix. Although the field wa lacking in some Teams this year the racing was full gas and it takes nothing from Gilberts wing today. The way he took the final kilometre was sublime, a real confident rider showing he has glass in suitcase loads.

Gilbert wins on the White Riads

I'm very disappointed that there was no Live feed today to watch as I've liked this race ever since it's inception. Phillippe Gilbert won today, and I'm hoping that there may be some hi-lights later on today. The person behind the Giro d'Italia tweets was there today, so I saved the pics to upload. Thanks for these, but next year a live feed as if you want this to progress from a race to a Classic publicity will help.

March 1000

Like many, I can't spend all my time on the bike trying to get the kilometres in so that I can be ready for Roubaix. So @TawnyCam & I have set ourselves the challenge of hitting a 1000km this month!

It's a big ask for sure, what with work and family responsibilities it'll mean some rides to work, with some longer rides at the weekend.

Today was tough, it was hilly & my back is all messed up, due to one of my children sneaking into bed leaving me a windows ledge style perch on the bed.

Nutrition is going to be the key to recovery, so I'm cutting out the crap food and trying to concentrate on quality. What I'm going to do is report back on Monday how the week has gone & the total reached. Until Monday.

This is a beautiful magazine, and well written too. Can't wait until the Magazine is available in the UK.
